That Rachel “Bunny” Mellon was one of the pent-ultimate American arbiters of good taste and great style is unquestionable, her many homes worshiped as equally for their beauty as for their restraint.   One detail Bunny carried from coast to city to farm is her iconic painted floors which have become emblematic of that quiet beauty, adding a soft layer of color, pattern, and texture to a wide variety of rooms.

I have always adored these painted floors and have stolen the look for a client or two. But, sometimes, a client is not down for the lifetime commitment and maintenance of a painted floor. And, sometimes, something softer and cozier to the bare foot is preferable to a bare, albeit painted, floor.  This collection seeks to borrow the concept, but modernize it for the way we live today.
